Debra L. Fischer Gibbon Excellence in Occupational Health Nursing Award

This prestigious award is presented annually to the occupational health nurse who receives the highest score on the previous year’s Certified Occupational Health Nurse-Specialist (COHN-S) certification examination.

This award has been established to honor Debra Lynn Fischer Gibbon, a former Certified Occupational Health Nurse-Specialist (COHN-S) and Certified Safety Professional (CSP), who lost her life on the 105th floor of the World Trade Center on the morning of September 11, 2001.  A senior vice president for AON Risk Services, Ms. Gibbon coordinated services for the company’s top clients.  Ms. Gibbon worked for 17 years in the area of occupational health and safety.

The 2025 Debra L. Fischer Gibbon Excellence in Occupational Health Nursing Award is presented to:

Jordan McCunn, RN, BSN, COHN-S, is a registered nurse whose career has been shaped by a deep commitment to caring for others with excellence, integrity, and compassion. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Tyler and has practiced in a variety of clinical and leadership roles, including critical care and occupational health.

Most recently, Jordan served as a Regional Complex Nurse Manager, where she led nursing teams and supported multi-site occupational health programs.

Throughout her career, she has been driven not only by clinical standards and regulatory knowledge, but by a genuine desire to support people — whether patients, employees, or the nurses she leads. She believes that strong systems and policies matter, but kindness, trust, and human connection matter just as much.

Jordan lives in Arkansas with her husband and their two young children. Outside of nursing, she enjoys reading, spending time with her family, and embracing the everyday moments that make life meaningful. She is passionate about showing up with kindness in all that she does, both personally and professionally.

Congratulations Jordan!
