Ann M Lachat Excellence in Occupational Health Nursing Award

The ABOHN Ann M. Lachat Excellence in Occupational Health Nursing Award was  established to honor Ann M. Lachat, the former CEO of ABOHN, for her 23 years of service.   This special award is given to the individual who achieved the highest score on the previous year's COHN examination.

Cindy Camp, BSN, COHN, CCM, is an occupational health professional with nearly 20 years of experience in workers’ compensation, health care, and workplace safety. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Brenau University and a Master of Science in Health and Safety from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

 

Cindy began her career in a poultry processing facility as a Safety Coordinator, developing a strong foundation in workplace safety and injury prevention while pursuing her nursing education. After becoming a registered nurse, she served as an Occupational Health Nurse and later as a Health and Safety Manager, focusing on employee health, regulatory compliance, and safety initiatives. She subsequently transitioned into clinical practice as an orthopedic and urology nurse, where she also served as a preceptor to new nurses, and continues to work in this capacity on a PRN basis when time allows.

 

Cindy currently works as a Field Case Manager, coordinating care for injured workers and facilitating safe, timely return-to-work outcomes while helping employers reduce lost work time through effective case management. She is bilingual and committed to providing compassionate, high-quality care that supports recovery, independence, and positive outcomes for the individuals she serves.

 

Her career reflects a deep commitment to helping others across clinical care, occupational health, and case management. Outside of her professional work, Cindy is a devoted mother to her two young daughters, who are her greatest source of pride and motivation. She values time spent with her family, enjoys lifelong learning, and caring for her beloved pets.
