ABOHN OHN Masterclass Series
September 2026 ABOHN CE OFFERING
WHAT: “Breath of Fresh Air: OHN Respiratory Program Mastery”
WHEN: Wednesday, September 16, 2026, 4pm CST
WHERE: Live via Zoom
Respiratory protection programs involve far more than selecting a respirator. Occupational Health Nurses (OHNs) working with employers and evaluating workers play an important role in ensuring that respiratory protection programs are properly developed, implemented, evaluated, and maintained.
Join ABOHN for “Breath of Fresh Air: OHN Respiratory Program Mastery,” a practical continuing education program designed to help nurses strengthen their knowledge and confidence in managing workplace respiratory protection programs.
In this session, participants will:
Explore the key components of an effective respiratory protection program, including:
- Hazard Assessment: Identify workplace respiratory hazards and determine appropriate protection.
- Program Evaluation: Assess existing programs and recognize opportunities for improvement.
- Respirator Selection: Understand considerations for selecting appropriate respiratory protection.
- Maintenance Procedures: Establish practices that support proper respirator function and employee safety.
- Storage Procedures: Ensure respirators are stored appropriately to maintain their integrity and effectiveness.
- Training Requirements: Understand essential employee education and training considerations.
- Recordkeeping: Identify documentation requirements necessary to support compliance and program oversight.
A well-designed respiratory protection program is essential to protecting workers from occupational respiratory hazards. This course will provide practical knowledge that OHNs can take directly back to their workplaces to help strengthen compliance, identify program gaps, improve program oversight, and promote worker safety.
Don’t just manage your respiratory protection program, master it!
